Terms of Use

Clear terms for a clear work record.

These Terms describe the role of EarnTrace, your responsibility for the records you enter, and the boundaries of its estimates.

Effective August 31, 2026

1. Agreement and license

These Terms govern your use of EarnTrace, including the local-first iPhone utility, website, free calculator, guides, and related materials. They help you organize user-entered work time and calculate estimated gross pay. By using these services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.

The app is licensed, not sold. Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies unless the App Store product page provides a valid custom EULA. These Terms supplement that license for EarnTrace-specific features.

2. Not payroll, tax, legal, or employer verification

EarnTrace is an organizational tool. It is not payroll, a time clock operated by your employer, a tax or net-pay calculator, wage-law or overtime-compliance advice, legal evidence, employer verification, or a guarantee of an amount owed.

Estimates are calculated from the hours, breaks, rates, and adjustments you enter. Confirm payment details, official records, applicable rules, and disputes with your employer or client and qualified advisers.

The website calculator runs from the inputs and options you select. Its optional overtime scenario is a simplified estimate and does not determine coverage, exemptions, daily overtime, blended rates, premiums, or jurisdiction-specific treatment.

3. Your records and responsibilities

You are responsible for entering information lawfully and accurately, reviewing results, protecting access to your device, keeping portable backups, reviewing files before sharing, and following workplace, contract, privacy, and recordkeeping obligations. Do not enter another person's sensitive information unless you are authorized to do so.

EarnTrace stores work records locally in this version and does not promise automatic cloud backup. Device loss, deletion, operating-system behavior, storage failure, or exported-file handling can affect availability. Use the backup and export controls regularly if the records matter to you.

4. Purchases, trials, and EarnTrace Pro

EarnTrace offers two ways to unlock the same Pro entitlement: Annual Pro as an auto-renewable subscription and Lifetime Pro as a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. At launch in the United States, Annual Pro is $14.99 per year and Lifetime Pro is $24.99 once. The price and currency shown in the app by your App Store storefront control your purchase.

Eligible users may receive a 7-day free trial of Annual Pro. Unless canceled, the subscription converts to the displayed annual price at the end of the trial and renews automatically each year. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings. Apple determines trial eligibility, billing timing, taxes, refunds, and family-sharing availability.

When enabled, RevenueCat uses an anonymous customer identifier and purchase history to validate the Pro entitlement. Restore Purchases asks the active verified purchase service to check eligible history. A failed, cancelled, pending, or unavailable purchase does not delete your existing work records.

Lifetime Pro does not expire as a subscription would. Annual Pro and Lifetime Pro unlock the Pro features presented in the app for as long as the relevant entitlement remains valid. App Store purchase and subscription terms also apply.

5. Acceptable use and intellectual property

Do not use the app to violate law, infringe rights, distribute harmful code, bypass purchase controls, reverse engineer where prohibited, or misrepresent estimates as employer-certified, payroll, tax, or legal determinations.

EarnTrace's original icon, interface, software, and documentation are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You remain responsible for and retain your rights in the records you enter, subject to the rights of others.

6. Availability and disclaimers

EarnTrace is provided on an “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. No software can guarantee uninterrupted operation, permanent storage, error-free estimates, or acceptance of an export by an employer, court, tax authority, or other party.

Features may change for reliability, security, legal, or platform reasons. To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, the application provider disclaims implied warranties and liability for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, lost-data, or lost-income damages. Consumer rights and liabilities that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.

7. Ending use and retaining data

You may stop using and delete the app at any time. Use export or backup before deletion if you want to retain records. Deleting data in the app or deleting the app does not remove copies you previously exported to another destination.

8. Privacy, support, and changes

The Privacy Policy explains local records, user-controlled export, purchase processing, notifications, and deletion. The Support page provides troubleshooting and contact guidance. Material changes to these Terms will use a new effective date.

The application provider and seller are the developer identified on EarnTrace's App Store product page. Mandatory rights and the law applicable to you remain unaffected by these Terms.
